DARWIN

Darwin Experience is a full-day tour in which you will visit the Patagonian steppe in a unique way, sailing in double kayaks along the Santa Cruz River from the famous Charles Furh spot to Estancia El Rincón.

You will learn part of the route that Charles Darwin took through the El Calafate area sailing in the mid-19th century, which gives a touch of history to the adventure of kayaking in Patagonia.

 

Darwin Experience begins when we pick you up in 4×4 trucks at your hotel in El Calafate to go to the Charles Fuhr Park, located 40 km from the city. Upon arrival we will lower the kayaks from the 4×4 and prepare to live the experience by doing warm-up exercises while the certified guides provide an explanation of how the activity is carried out. 

 

Once the technical talk is over, the kayak begins along the Santa Cruz River, which will last 80 minutes, traveling 15 km until reaching Estancia El Rincón. 

 

After lunch, the return trip to the city begins in the 4×4 trucks.

TO CONSIDER

 

  • 4x4 tour: 40km one way and 65km return.

  • Kayak tour: 15 km, 90 min.

  • Minimum age: 16 years.

  • Menu: Focaccia with eggplant dip, provoleta with tomato, salads, narrow Creole steak, chocolate mousse and drinks included.

  • Recommendations: Wear warm clothing, gloves and comfortable shoes.

  • Cancellation policy: Canceled due to strong winds.

  • Optional companion: Those people who do not want to paddle can go to the destination ranch in a 4x4 and have lunch with the kayakers, paying 50% of the rate.
